    Team,

    I have a Alienware 13 R3 with a 1060 as well as a Mobo defective 15 with a 1070.

Could I or even should I bother to move the 1070 from the defective 15 to my 13?

    Cheers.

    Compare the heat syncs.

If they are the same, and all the holes and everything else lines up, i don't see why this wouldn't work. The display cables may not be compatible since the 13 R3 shipped with an OLED panel and that could cause some stuff, but i mean...

On the other side, it may be better to just sell the 13 r3 and the 1070 mobo and buy a razer blade 15 advanced model or something XD (Thin n light w/ a 1070 i mean)

I like what you're throwing down... I do think it's time to move off the Alienware bandwagon...

This got the Dr. Frankenstein in me excited to see what level of mayhem I could cause.

Will not work, the 1070 has 8GB of VRAM while the 1060 has 6GB and that is also soldered to the motherboard.

Also the Dies are different sizes as well IIRC

The motherboard is totally different, it wont fit at all, in fact the base motherboard without the separate usb port is already too wide.
