Yesterday, Windows performed a forced major update (took 4 hours!) to v1809.17763.194. Since then, Tobii eye tracking will no longer run.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

I also note that Office 365 has become completely unstable since this update, but that's another story.

You’re way behind the times. The rest of us already went through this a few months ago and Tobii has released an update to fix this.

Interesting that you say that. Windows updates itself automatically on my machine and this update came down yesterday but, according to you, you had it months ago. Are you sure we are talking v17763.194?

I have already checked on Tobii's site and I have the current software so, unless your fix came from a different page, it would appear I am up to date. Perhaps I should reinstall it?

Sorry, I didn’t notice the full build version.

Both my 17R5s are fully updated and Windows hello works on both so I’m not sure what’s different about your system that’s causing issues

I'm running a 17 R4. I do not use Windows Hello. It's just Tobii Eye Tracking that won't connect.

The fix you spoke of relates to Windows 10 v1809.17763.168. The latest version is 17763.194 so perhaps that fix is no longer applicable?

I sort of fixed it by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. I say sort of because it worked fine until I rebooted and then it wouldn't connect. I have a support ticket open for the issue now.

Try Eye control beta in Ease of Access section in settings app, if it works there then its a driver problem and most likely you need a UWD driver for it to work correctly. Check out windows update catalog and search for the keyword by checking device manager.
I used Tobii eye and got the list of firmware and drivers uploaded by Tobii https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=tobii eye
