I am looking to buy the following for $1,829.25

    Processor:
Intel Core 6th Gen i7-6820HK Processor (Quad-Core, 8MB Cache, Dynamically Overclocked up to 4.1GHz)
Operating System Windows 10 Home 64bit English
Hard Disk Drive 1 TB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
    128 GB Solid State drive
    Memory 16GB (2x8GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory
    Laptop Screen 17.3 inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO IPS Anti-Glare 400-nits Display
Video NVidia GeForce GTX 980M with 4gb
Network Interface Card Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1

I will be mostly using it with a 2560x1440 display to play GTA V, Tera, WoW, Starcraft II and Minecraft. I suspect this will meet if not exceed my needs. Does this sound like a good price/ specs for what I want to do?

For those games, this laptop will definitely handle it. I just ordered one pretty much identical to your specs except with windows 10 pro and 3 years warranty. Don't forget to apply 25% coupon. The most demanding game you listed is gta5 which I've seen videos online where people are playing in 4k at around mid 40s fps.

I get only 15-20 FPS on high settings + UHD in GTA 5 with my GTX 980m and an i7 6700HQ. You have to turn the settings way down to achieve 40 FPS with UHD.

The configuration in the first post is create, although I would not go for the UHD panel if you are using an external monitor as your main monitor. The FHD panel of the AW 17 R3 is really good.

Yea definitely didn't want to imply that GTA5 could run on max everything 4k around mid 40s. You'll be around high settings. Here's the youtube link to what I saw and hey, they're using the AW 17 also!

Thanks, guys and that price is with the 25% coupon. Looks like it will be here just in time for my birthday.

I really only got the 4K display for watching the occasional 4K video. I don't expect to really use it at 4K to often. Looks great on the proper screen.

Once 4k movies start rolling out later this year you'll definitely be using that 4k resolution a lot more. =) Looking forward to The Martian in 4k in March.
