Clearly the i9 9900K is a very power hungry processor that provides so much horsepower for gaming, video editing, and just really heavy workloads in general, but all of that power comes at a price: extreme temperatures.

So, what sort of temperatures have you guys been experiencing with your i9 9900K processors? It would be interesting to see as most Area-51M owners have changed their stock Dell thermal paste to much higher quality ones, and even decreased voltages via AWCC, and Intel XTU in order to hopefully keep those hot temps as low as possible, and have longer lasting CPUs as a result.

With my first Area-51 system, which I’ve sent back to my online store on Friday for a replacement, the i9 9900K reached at least 105 C during a 20 minute gameplay session on Battlefield V, one super baking temperature, and that was with the fans set to performance mode.

Even though the i9 9900K gets insanely hot, I think we can still love it for how much raw power it provides.

Yeah dell doesn't want you to know their new flagship system runs like hot garbage. You should just return that laptop. It's not going to get better.

An undervolt can help you with your 9900k. I was able to overclock and undervolt my 9700k for a net decrease in temps when benchmarking. Sadly the 9900k is a HOT cpu, people have issues cooling them in their desktops...

What's your *everyday* use undervolt and overclock setting?

    I ran the 9700k at 5GHz with a 95mv undervolt.

This, to properly cool it, you need a very hefty desktop cooler. Its a dog of a cpu unfortunately.
