Spare 240w PSU, can I use it on the AW 13 R3?

I have a spare 240w PSU that I had with my AW 15 R2/R3 (now returned) -- can I use this as a spare charger for the AW 13 R3 (OLED, 1060, 6700HQ)? I know the AW13 R3 uses an 180w PSU but I've never ran into this before. Just curious. Thanks!

You don't need to... It's literally pointless to do so. The 180W PSU will suffice.

That said, it should work. But I won't recommend using non-certified power supplies with new hardware.

I should clarify, I like to keep one PSU semi-perm attached to my desk at home and then have one in my laptop bag for when I travel (LANs etc) -- I would keep the larger PSU attached to my desk.

It's also an official Dell PSU (that I ordered from Dell for my AW 15 R2)

Oh okay, well that makes more sense. I would not worry about it. It should work. Their PSU's hardly change.

By the way, the size between the 180 and 240 isn't all that different.
