I recently purchased a new 17 and I’m waiting for it to ship but on the website if you look you get a free copy of far cry 5 with the purchase of the Alienware 17 atleast with a i9 didn’t look at the other ones. So I noticed in my order list no digital copy of the game. I know I could just torrent the game lol but I’m paying $4 grand for a laptop and it’s supposed to be Included. So I call them and because I can’t prove it’s supposed to be in my order they can’t send me the email with the digital copy. Lol it’s on the website right now but they don’t know and I can’t prove it was there on Monday when I ordered it. So instead of just sending me the email for a digital Download which probably costs them nothing they took $150 off my price of the laptop. Lol how they stay in business I have no idea. Same as why it makes no sense to me that our laptops are being built in China and shipped to the United States. Then dell checks the laptop then ships it to us.
None of anything I just wrote makes any business sense to me lol

They took near 3x the price of the game off your laptop and you're complaining about it?
If you dont like that your laptop is built in china, like a majority of products are, then dont buy them?
It doesnt make sense to you because you haven't looked into how economies of scale work. One attribute is billing and accounting. Im guessing the majority of consumers dont know how they do that (myself included) but it was likely far easier to discount the laptop considering its their inventory as opposed to including a game key that is assigned when the order is made. All vendors have had issues with free games for product purchases dating back to when they first started doing it a while back. Its nothing new, and its high unlikely to end anytime soon.Drinky, Vistar Shook, rinneh and 3 others like this. -

Why don't you use part of the 150 to buy the game and keep the rest. You've actually made money!
(or give me the 150 and I'll be happy to email you the digital download key that dell forgot to give you )
I think the American customer services side is better than the UK one.
They made a mistake with my order (sending the wrong colour chassis) ... And just told me to send it back if I'm not happy. The i9 overheated like crazy so I ended up sending It back and they offered me a 15% code. The delivery guy didn't turn up the first day but I suppose that's not dell's fault
The code would be good apart from the current 15% promotion that's already running and the codes don't stack! No joy!
150 is pretty good because UK customer services don't offer anything near the sort.Vistar Shook and rinneh like this. -
Defiantly some tools on this forum. Where did I say I was complaining. You do know what lol means right?
And no it doesn’t make sense to build it in China if they are gonna ship it here and have their company inspect the computer , run diagnostics and then ship it to me. Anyone buying these laptops should know how to take them apart and put them back together again. It would make sense if they made it in China and shipped it to me but not to people who have to inspect the computer when those same people can build it themselves.
Its actually more amazing some of you said I was complaining. Read the post again. -

I’ve only used dell to buy Alienware laptops and when you call customer service it’s in India. I know a guy who works there. They even use Americanized names to not piss off ignrorant customers who have a issue with it. Maybe Europe gets a different customer service center, but I can tell you all you have to do is call the customer service number and make a complaint (say your delivery date wasn’t what was promised, or if you needed to return the computer for what you said the wrong color) and they will offer you money off your account if it’s a dell preferred account. If you use a credit card to buy the computer they won’t so easily give you money back. This is my fourth Alienware and after the second one on another website forum someone shared this same info and it’s worked every single time since then. The dell card isn’t that bad it’s zero percent interest for one year so as long as you pay it off by then your saving money rather then using a different credit card. -

You can now buy the Gold version or whatever the highest teird version of the game is now . Still have $in your pocket, otherwise the free game would have been the base game of the levels offered for sale. I wonder, will you be buying farcry5 now?

they will give you the code to download the game ... happened to me when i bought my 15 r1 and didn't come with the witcher 3

You again lack the comprehension of why they would build in china. Its just cheaper that way even with the logistics involved. Its really not that difficult to fathom dude.MogRules likes this. -
