Anyone have a recommended sleeve I can throw it in before tossing in my backpack? I would prefer to keep any scratches from transport as minimal as possible.

The alienware vindicator sleeve is pretty nice with good neopreene quality and leather like edges.

I second that. I bought the 17 inch sleeve and put it in there before the backpack.. Very nice indeed.
@LVNeptune Nice to see you back in the AW world.

Would you consider a vinyl? I've ordered one from dbrand which is still in preorder status (I was asking them before to make one for the AW15R3!) and am glad they're finally doing it. I use their stuff on my other products and have been pleased with the quality and results.

Covers palm rest too. Check the YouTube video for dbrand alienware 15.

Not to go too off topic but I got a question for you.
Something I have been trying to say to a internal Dell guy that is working on the next gen laptops.
How do you feel the rubberized coating compared to last gen (17R3), or even the gen before that (AW14)?
Does it attract more oil? Less? or about the same?

Don't know about oil, but as a dog owner, the damn thing does tend to hang on to pet hair like a magnet. I prefer the material they used on the AW M15X...just basic plastic.

I would say it's attracting much more oil. Even with my hands being clean I still see marks from touching it.

    my rusty alienware! :))
I didn't order skin for bottom.
also to mention that I had red carbon before but I didn't like it cause it was a bit transparent.
the skins are very sticky yet if you wanna remove the skin it doesnot leave any residue and also no damages!
very good protection specially for the palm area .easy to clean is like a gloss surface!
