Hi Guys,
I live in singapore and if were to buy a r17 with the i7-7820hk coupled with the GTX1080 from Dell USA i would save about SGD2K before shipping and taxes. Even with those calculated in i expect to save about 1.5kSGD.
However i read that there are alot of problems with the laptops. Such as the QHD screens having lines, backlight bleeding and some machines even stuttering in game despite the powerful hardware. So if i really do order the laptop, what are the chances i will encounter such problems? Or have these defects been rectified with the newer batches.
Or should i just wait it out till dell release the R5. However i expect the R5 to have it own set of problems as well.
Thanks in advance for all advice. .

QHD screens are now sorted, they changed them and I haven't seen any reports of complaints on the new ones.
Stuttering can be sorted yourself, if you get it there are guides on here on what to do as long as you're happy opening up the laptop yourself. The guides are thorough so just take your time and you'll be fine. As for the backlight bleed, I don't think that's an issue on the QHD screens. -
how is it cheaper to import, do you pay any fees when it come to country?

This is my country website.

It's certainly not the norm to have to keep repasting. Stock speeds most are absolutely fine, it's only when you want to start overclocking that the temps ramp up and a repaste is recommended.
Should I import the Alienware 17 R4
