    I just bought an Alienware 15 inch, still waiting for it to arrive. While I wait for it, I wanted to purchase an SSD and I was looking at the Crucial MX100 Series 512GB SSD. It's at a really good price now, but I am worried it might not fit the Alienware because of its size. Does anyone know if it will fit? Will I have to take out the existing drive? I was gonna get the Crucial M500, looks small enough so that i can use both of them. But I would be obligated to downgrade to the 240GB one, because the 480GB is out of my price range. Please help! :)

    Any 2.5 ssd will fix on the new Alienware 13 and 15, I just put one Samsung 840 Evo 1 TB on my 15! crucial ssd might be no compatible with Alienware, I'M so sure.

    Isn't 2015 AW15 limited to one 2,5 inch bay?

    Ok so could you please explain, I am a little new to alienware... Computer comes with 1TB 5400 SATA 6Gb/s. Now if i purchase this SSD, will i be loosing that? and my computer will just have a 512 SSD, or will it be both? Specs on the SSD say it is 2.5"

    You would be replacing the 2.5" 1TB SATA 6Gb/s drive with the 2.5" 512MB SSD. The A15 also has 2 m.2 SATA SSD slots available as well.

    There's only one bay. So if you wanted the 2.5" ssd in there you'd be replacing the other drive

    Honestly I have to admit that new 2015 Alienware models are a joke. Not upgradable and ripped off from all enthusiast stuff . If I would be on your position I would return this one and buy M17xR4 which simply kills new model with performance and expansion, im sorry if you feel like being cheated by dell because most of us feel like that. We still have previous Alienware models which are oddly more powerful and have more customization options and drive bays.

    Regards

    15 = 1 2.5" HDD/SSD and 2 M.2's
    13 = 1 2.5" HDD/SSD or 2 M.2's
