so my Alienware constantly presses the / key. What can I do besides turn it in for warranty. I deploy in less then a week and need a temp fix at a minimum till I get back and I can afford to loose it for more then a week.

Scroll lock isn't on is it? Short of something very simple like that, or the key being physically stuck, I don't see another option than having them send you a new keyboard. They will send you one and you can replace it yourself if you feel comfortable doing so.

It has nothing to do with the num pad... Man that stunks. Is there a way to disable the on board keyboard and just use a plug in one?

Yup, you can do so from the device manager. Right click, disable.

Also try using a knife to fiddle with the key, pry it up lightly. A single repeating key sounds like a mechanical issue, ie something sticky under it. If prying at it helps then I'd get a can of compressed air keyboard cleaner and go at it.

other way is try reseating the cable for the keyboard. i had this problem as well because dell tech agent changed my heatsink and probably didnt assemble it properly. i reseated the cable and got fixed. oh another way to confirm if this is a hardware issue is to bios and try typing from there like trying to make a password for your hard drive. if the key keeps repeating most likely the cable of the keyboard that connects the motherboard is not properly on. thats how i did mine.. hope this helps..
