The Thermal Pads on the GPU side seem to be much thicker than the CPU side, preventing the CPU heat sink from making complete contact with the CPU die?

Nearly a 20 degree differential is insane. This is after I repasted with Noctua NT=H1 & undervolted. (Yes, I plan to purchase Thermal Kryonaut, unfortunately this was the best option around me locally, for an immediate repaste )

This is before repaste, with undervolt. http://imgur.com/GqkLRIW

I have been back and forth with Dell since last week & their argument is that because the average falls below 90 degrees, it's OK.

Next step for me is repasting again with Kryo, and subbing out all the pads for equal thickness FujiPoly Thermal Pads.

Yeah, all models from latest Alienware line struggle with the well known TRIPOD mess.

You should also try requesting new pads from Dell. They've acknowledged this issue already and did provide free pads for the units affected.
