    Hello everyone!

    I received my newly ordered alienware, as specced above. However I am getting random stutters ingame(including sound stutter at the same time), CPU max temperature is 85 and GPU 60-70. Prochot(Throttlestop shows temperatures during wPrime 1024m max out at 72, yet DB prochot happens) seems to be the issue here, I guess the only way to fix this is repasting? PCH maxes out at 81 degrees. This looks like the issues everyone is having on his gtx 1080 version. Please let me know what you guys think!!

    And btw the ambient temperature is around 27,5 degrees here.

    Sound stutter? That's odd - it shouldn't be happening if it were thermal throttling. At least not in my limited experience. At any rate, 85*C on the CPU shouldn't be triggering a thermal break.

    Sound stutter seems to be gone, I get the Max Turbo Limit and MCT Turbo Attenuation flag, I am not sure what MCT means. Maybe someone could help me give some insight in this? Thanks in advance!

    I'm almost convinced the graphics stutters are heat related. Playing Witcher 3, I got them not even 5 minutes in, but then undervolted -0.100, which lowered my temps a bit, and the stuttering was gone. Was able to play for an hour without issue.

    My 7700 HQ actually showed thermal throtteling at 65-75 degrees temperatues(shown in XTU), should it thermal throttle at that point?

    Not at those temps no. Usually thermal throttling hits closer to upper 90's and 100 and over. You are a long ways from where you should be seeing any thermal throttling.

    @MogRules
    I do believe that PROCHOT is the issue, HWINFO shows the PROCHOT flag ON alot of the times while the CPU barely hits 80 degrees(spikes at 85) or with undervolt even maxes out at 75-77. The GPU never goes over 71. XTU shows no motherboard VR throttle at any time so I doubt its comming from them. However I read something online about SSDs sending prochot to the CPU, I got a toshiba ssd which idles at 68-72 degrees. I do believe now that the SSD is sending the signal. Also disable PROCHOT fixes all my issues and does not increase my CPU or GPU temperatures. I have not yet monitored the SSD temperatures during gaming with PROCHOT off.

    Maybe someone can shed some lid on PROCHOT and can confirm or deny my theory?

    THanks in advance!
