    hi all.......

as i do my rounds on the old interweb ive been seeing many ppl seem to have the ability to OC their system RAM via XTU ?? ...i simply dont have these options.

is it related to different PC vendors... or do i just need to update my BIOS..??

    cheers.

very bad idea. If you overclock wrong, you will brick your computer and have to do the special reset method.

Whaat? You can certainly overclock using BIOS and if you overdo it, it just resets to stock. I doubt it's different with the XTU, which is moot since it doesn't seem to be able to OC memory on the AW15 R2 at least.

Now, of course - someone will jump in momentarily with a bunch of links claiming that memory OC doesn't yield increased performance, but perhaps best to benchmark on your own.

yeah... ive also seen the results with higher DDR4 speeds all the way to 3200mhz not yielding much over the 2133mhz i have..... but i thought with a little more voltage i might be able to tighten the timings..??

ive seen some vendors versions of XTU not only having frequency adjustment, but voltage and timings too...... is anyone able to OC the RAM via XTU with ANY AW machine..??

Yes well I've pulled timings too low in XTU and guess what...brick.

Would you happen to know the ideal timings that are best for our Skylake AW's? Also, what cas latency does our AW's like best?

I see all these 32GB RAM sticks out there for our laptop with different specs....scratching my head....

I would assume that we would want something around: Cas Latency of ~15 and with Timing around 15-15-15-36?
