Has anyone encountered this? I managed to get rid of the cursor freezing and general unresponsiveness in game by turning off all trackpad gesturing functionality, but I still have a problem with the left button not consistently working.
Note the problem doesn't happen outside of the game. I've only tried playing GW2 so far, as the games I play takes ages to download and install.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

17 r4, correct? BGA I presume? Download the latest touchpad driver from Dell and see if it fixes the issue. That new driver had similar changelog or fixes regarding the same issue you posted.

I've pinpointed the issue to it seems I can't use the keyboard and trackpad at the same time for some actions. For instance if I'm using the keyboard for movement, and trying to use the left mouse button at the same time, then the button doesn't respond.
I've look at the settings for the tackpad but can't see a setting that affects this.
Doe anyone have any ideas? -

Fixes & Enhancements
Fixes
- Fix scrolling direction reverse issue.
Which is under "Gestures" which I have switched completely off anyway. -

I've tested this in a few more games now and it definitely using the keyboard and mouse button at the same time.
If using the the keyboard for movement I can't use the left button to fire at the same time. If I stop using the keyboard there is a 1-2 sec period where the left button won't work but starts functioning normally after this.
As you can imagine this makes games unplayable because you need to use both at same time. -
Your probably going to be hard pressed to find many people with extensive experience using the track pad for gaming as 99% of gamers will use an external mouse. You said you reinstalled the new driver over the old one? Try to completely remove all drivers from the system pertaining to the track pad and start fresh with the newest.

Okay figured this out.
For anyone else who has this problem for Win 10:
(1) Go to the Cortana search window (bottom left) and type "settings", press return key. This brings up an icon list of windows settings.
(2) Click on the "Devices (Bluetooth, Printers, Mouse)" icon. This brings up another list of icons. Click "Touchpad" icon.
(3) Change Touchpad sensitivity to: "Most sensitive".
This cures the problem of the mouse button being disabled when using the keyboard.
NOTE: This Touchpad setting is windows 10 based and therefore is not present in the Synaptic touchpad menu.
This setting could have a better explanation of what it does (because there isn't one) and I don't understand why it was on the default "Medium sensitivity" in the first place.
Thanks for trying to help me
