Hi, Im new here. I just wanted to ask a quick question about the psu requiered for the gtx 980m. I've had my AW 15 for a long time but just recently became aware of the PSU issue.

I bought my AW from a guy in USA and he transferred the warranty to my country, Chile. Im worried that Dell in my country doesn't give me proper support. I am going to ask for the 240w PSU, but if anything goes wrong I have to buy the PSU.

In light of that, Ive wanted to ask you if is more convenient to buy the 330w or if I just get the 240w.

For me, the only difference is that I (living in Chile) can get the 240w right away and the 330w is harder to get.

    Thank you.

PS: I know that there are hundreds of threads talking about it, but I would still like your opinion on the 330w. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about getting the 330 watt PSU. The 240 does the job just fine.

It's a different part number than the one for my 15R2 but it has the same specifications. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    In Amazon, it says "Compatible Part Numbers: PA-9E, FWCRC, 6RTJT, J211H, Y044M, 330-4128, 330-4342, 330-7843, 331-3179, 331-9053"

    And in Dell.com product, http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/PopupProductDetail.aspx?cs=19&l=en&c=us&sku=331-9053
    it says: "This product replaces the following SKU / Part Numbers: FWCRC/ 6RTJT / J211H / Y044M / 330-4128 / 330-4342 / 330-7843 / 331-3179" and below that
    "Compatibility
This product is compatible with the following systems:
    Alienware 15 R2
    Alienware 17 R3"

So yeah, I think it works, and makes your point.
    Many many thanks!
