How is the quality of the IPS screen such as backlight bleed? I can't afford to drop $350 for OLED.

Anyone who has the IPS, is it good? I'm worried about backlight bleed.

Each laptop is different in terms of backlight bleed - nowadays, most laptops have some form of light bleed but it's not really an issue unless you squint very hard and look for it. It mostly depends on the assembly of the machine.

As for quality - you have to look at colour gamut, brightness, backlight control, viewing angles and refresh rate/response time.

I have the IPS, it's an amazing screen in its own right. No backlight bleed but there is IPS glow (all IPS panels have this). Colors are nice and the matte finish makes it useful in bright lit conditions.

$350 extra for an OLED screen made no sense to me since it would be a 13" screen anyway. I'd rather spend that money on a 24" or bigger panel I could use at home.

Yeah the extra money for the OLED makes no sense either. OLED just seems overpriced imo and not worth dropping the extra money on an already expensive computer.

OLED is FAR superior to ANYTHING possible on IPS in terms of colour reproduction. It's not overpriced if you want the absolute best colours possible combined with good response times and contrast.
