Recently ordered a 51M and looking for a waterproof hard case similar to a pelican case for use at work, seems like due to the odd footprint of this laptop the only options I can find are around 8” deep. This thing will be getting knocked around in my work truck primarily being used for rendering high resolution 3d scans in the oil and gas industry and would really prefer something around 3” to 5” deep to save on room in the cab as I will have a ton of other equipment with me that is all in cases. Anyone know of other options for hard cases? I’ve looked at storm, nanuck, pelican, etc. and have yet to come up with a solution. Also I should mention that I’d like to have room for both power bricks, a mouse and an sd card reader.

There is a purpose built pelican. But is double the price. Surprised you did not find it though.

    Interior Dimensions (inches): 18.87 x 13.12 x 3.81

Problem with these cases is you can’t put the PSU’s in with it. So you’ll need a second bag/case or plan to not use it long while on the road

If you are ok with backpacks, I know Mission Workshop has VERY reliable stuff. I have a waterproof backpack that I have tested by running it under the faucet on full blast. They are expensive but I mean, 300$ vs 2000$, you kinda need expensive well-made stuff to protect expensive stuff.

Just read about it being left in a work truck, so I guess a backpack won't work. But I mean you could maybe put it in a case inside of a backpack

I am using a nanuk 940 hard carrying case to fit either my area51m or asus g703gxr

Works quite well in my opinion
