Hi guys,
Recently bought an Alienware 15, and when replacing the included HDD with an SSD, I managed to break the clamp(?) that holds the keyboard backlight ribbon in place, as circled in the image below in red.
the clamp still actually works, and holds the ribbon cable in place successfully, but I imaging after a reasonable amount of movement of the laptop, it will be the first thing to go.
My question is; is this little piece of white plastic of a standard size, and if it is, how could i go about buying one?
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, we don't have that for sale as a spare part. You'd likely need to acquire it online. I haven't seen any on the net though. -

I'm changing out the Hard Drive for an SSD today hope I don't encounter the same problem!

Thanks for that, any idea of what exactly the name of such a part it? ribbon cable clamp doesnt seem to be exactly right! and any information on the ribbon cable itself that would make it easier to search for would be great, I can't really find much about the specification of it.
Don't worry, it was absolutely my own stupidity that broke it. In the image above, where the number 4 is pointing to, you should just slide the cable from under the clip. Its a small bit of a stretch, so in my infinite wisdom I decided to just pop the clamp out instead and pull the ribbon cable length-ways, but broke the clamp trying to get it out. hahaha I was worried about that. Now I'm much more worried about something else. I just started a thread in the general alienware tab on notebook review talking about my experience with my new alienware
I just got my Alienware 17 R2 today and have to say I am severely disappointed
