    I know I know. Just messing with you. Just sharing my thoughts. Dell's far from perfect. There are many things manufacturers thing is within tolerance when they release a product that no customer would except. Like a bad screen with dead pixels. If you're paying a premium for a product it should never have a bad screen. Or any bad parts out the gate. But, that's just the nature of the industry I guess.

    I didn't buy an extended warranty as I've had much luck when it comes to companies fixing a product after the return period. Though I've been hearing enough about Dell's in home repairs to think I may want to reconsider since this is gonna be such an expensive laptop.

    It's not a bad idea to get it from Virgin Mega Store in Dubai. The last 2 Alienware 18's I got from them got refunded the next day. Both had terrible backlight bleed lighting and I had to literally fight with everyone there including the manager and make a scene at the store to get a refund. Virgin Megastore for me = NEVER again but your mileage might vary.

    Remember, since you live in Dubai, if you do get it from HIDevolution the Ultra Male Tweaking session would not be over TeamViewer but rather in a coffee shop LIVE tweaking :D

    Also, ask Donald about the shipping charges/customs, you can go for a slower shipping method which will still reach here in like 4-5 days. Think outside the box d00d.

    My MSI GT75 Titan is in mint condition. Once I get the new Alienware, I will swap out my SSDs as I will install the two of the 2TB 960 PROs in the Alienware and remove the 256GB m.2 SSD/1 TB SSHD from the Alienware and slap it on here. That still leaves an additional 2TB 960 PRO which I can keep for you in the GT75 TITAN.

    For the price, it will be: 12K if you want it with the Samsung 960 PRO or 11K if you want it without the SSD. Mind you, brand new it's almost 18K on Souq.com so this is a steal. Comes with the bag, all accessories, MSI Carry bag (brand new unused) and a mint condition laptop that was built by HIDevolution with all the thermal mods like Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads and a perfect panel with 0 backlight bleeding or dead pixels.

    You good Sir are a godsend and a relief for an aching heart. I'll wait till the reviews are up, if it's really worth it, I'll buy it from Hidevolution with the thermal mods. That way, I'll get to meet you in person too. I mean, who doesn't want to meet "The Ultra Male" ? Hehe

    If it's out of my budget, I'll wait until some discounts show up or give you a great offer for your GT75.

    In any case, I'll keep updating you man. Thanks for your great offer for the MSI.

    @Ted@HIDevolution helped me swap the Killer 1550 for the Intel 9260 as I had missed that was the standard WLAN Card it comes with.

    Expected shipping date mid March.

    Two months! I could hardly take that, I'd have a heart attack from nerves

    Out if curiosity, did HID charge upfront; or when units ship from Dell?

    I've ordered from them before; but never a pre-order

    Yes they will get it on March but you don't want them to ship it in the state that Dell ships it with their crappy thermal paste and stock components.

    Now I'm giving you a worst case scenario you may get it earlier and remember I live in Dubai so it takes like 5 days to ship to me but your situation is different.

    I paid up-front but if you contact Donald or Ted maybe for a pre-order they'd just take a downpayment I am not the best person to answer this bro.

    True, I imagine HID will have them March 1 the lastest, paid for rush so 5 days max then a few days to me. Well see I suppose. Hopefully they give us a heads up when our system arrives. I’m curious what position I am in the 51m order lineup. Pretty sure I’m one of the first few.

    Some guys on reddit that live in the usa have Feb 15-16 delivery dates supposedly. Maybe HID will get then around then too since its USA>USA shipping.

    Glad you saw this right before you pulled the trigger on the MSI GT75 which I also was going to do (the new version with the RTX GPU that is but I didn't feel it's much of an upgrade from what I have as the CPU is the same and it's the same old laptop I've had for 2 years. I had a GT73 and now GT75 before that)

    Nah I wasn’t even considering the GT75 anymore due to the fat bezels and dated design. I was debating on the GE75 but then seen news on the 51m and did a total 360 towards it lol.

    It would be nice to know if it can run on one or the other, say for non-gaming use on the road or in class, and if the 330w can be used for gaming up to a performance limit - automatically? Also when OC'ing does 2x 330w help - will the firmware allow pulling more than 180w+330w under load?

    Congratulations on the new laptop :)

    Knowing dell it most probably a firmware lock so 2x 330w doesn't help.

    Needs 3200 ram instead of 2666. And WiFi intel 9560 or killer 1580 instead of intel 9260.

    Otherwise perfect

    Should be a hell lot better than the thin soldered jokes out there.

    But put Cpu at 118,75w vs the unlocked BGA in the 17R5 with flimsy +8.75W (110w) ain’t cool. I wonder why Dell’s engineers didn’t make a bigger differences. I talk about load on both CPU and GPU. Not Cpu load alone.

    9260 = 1550
    9560 = 1550i

    Different socket, so can't 'upgrade' from 9260/1550 to 9560/1550i.

    That is on Ultra Male's purchase price...not yours :)

    I am not a brand loyalist. I am a results loyalist. And, I really want to see this product be wildly successful and run without any crippling nonsense. Yes, I have some very serious reservations that it will based on Alienware's behavior from 2013 through 2018. I hope this marks a dramatic and lasting change in their mentality and turns out to be more than an experiment or publicity stunt. I definitely would not recommend that anyone hold their breath on that.

    If it does I will be super happy for everyone that chooses to spend their money on one. I don't like to see anyone get screwed, including the folks with personalities and social behaviors that I do not particularly care for. @Ultra Male is a good friend, so I am really hoping this turns out well for his sake. I think he made a really smart move buying it from HIDevolution. It will have the greatest chance of being the best it can be with their TLC.

    But, I really am done with expensive laptops forever. It doesn't matter what gets released under any brand name, or how great it is... it's over. I am only buying cheap laptops and saving my money for desktop parts from here on out. About the only way that could or would change is if I ever have to go back to 70% business travel like I did for about 12 years. I was only home on weekends and vacation days, so it made no sense to have a fancy desktop. And, that is the only reason why I switched from desktops to high performance laptops to begin with. That could happen, but not likely. I cannot identify any other circumstance that would cause me to change my mind and compromise performance for the sake of having a mobile form factor.

    It's his money bud. He wouldn't spend that kind of money on a laptop if it wasn't worth it to him. Plus he bought from HIDEVOLUTION so he has peace of mind. And that can't be taken for granted these days.

    Main reason for increased cost is because of shipping the laptop overseas and warranty (plus accidental damage protection).
