Does any one know if Dell returns the money to your bank account before delivery??? I was supposed to receive my Alienware 15 during this week an just find out that the money I paid Dell is back into my account. I when ahead and chatted with them and I receive the following answer.
02/23/2015 11:56:02AM Agent (Srar): "its has been handed over to carrier. Once the order is invoiced we will reinstate the same transaction."
Edit: I really want to believe them, but for some weird reason I think my order has been canceled without my knowledge. I hope it's not, been waiting for my Alien for a while, super excited, and could no longer have the patience to reorder the damn thing. -

Well my status says in production on the website, but when I call and talk to customer service they are telling me the status is ready to ship on their end. Not sure who to believe.

I talked to Fedex today as I had a email from Dell Sunday Morning around 3 AM. Apparently there are shipping errors due to winter storms. FedEx actually has my order as in system on the 18th while Dell just sent the notice it has been shipped on the 22nd. Very confusing... but what has me a bit irate however is that not only was a charged for the computer finally, Dell actually placed an additional hold on my account matching the charge, which froze my debit card for 24hrs. As this a business account, this was rather frustrating in numerous and costly ways. I am very ticked off with Dell and I am not even sure I will open the box when it gets here at this point.

i talked to them they said sorry its because of the snow whatttt !!!!!!!! i told them my USB recovery shipped today he said its from different place yeh they both come from Tennessee he said yeh but different building omgggggggggg guysss I'm really angry i don't know when i'm coming to receive it. spring break is almost here so i'm going to travel and they still lying next week next day we will talk to you i never got any mail from them or any call i have to talk to them to ask them for email> i did make him send this mail to me so i will have something agnist them i did NOT close the call until i did receive it lol this email

We're sorry about the delays, however the date that you were provided is only an estimated and it's subject to change because it depends on many things. In your specific case, our team in Nashville (the one in charge of the inventory of your order) has had plenty of issues within the last week due to the inclement weather. They are trying their best to ship all orders that are missing from the days they lost and yours will be shipped as soon as they get to it.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you but don't think this is an isolated issue. Many customers are experiencing delays with their orders due to the magnitude of the problems that the weather is causing throughout the U.S. -

Again, there isn't much we can do even when you call. They are unable to expedite a process that was delayed due to an issue with nature.
Unfortunately, I show the same ETA as you but again the ETA's are subject to change depending on many things that are involved in the process. -

It's like ohhhh we have to delay his order because we can't build it in time....QUICK LET US MAIL HIM 3 TABLETS TO GIVE A REASON TO POST PONE THIS. Cancel your order, they clearly just don't care at this point. By "look into it" they mean send an e-mail and sit on their thumbs and make excuses.

Even when you cancel the order before it arrives, it'll get to you tomorrow because it has already shipped and we will likely not be able to stop it before it gets there.
Besides that, even when I asked for an update today it does not mean that I will be able to get the info I requested because it's on an external team that's completely out of my control. They may not come in until later today or may decide to contact you instead of me. All I can do is ask them and escalate, but what happens from there (since I'm not from sales nor customer care) will be out of my reach.
I've tried my best to get things straight for you ever since I found out about your issue, but there are some processes that we do not handle from our side and we need to ask others to help us further. I hope that it's just a mistake with the manifest and that you get the laptop that you ordered.
If that is the case, let me know! If it's not the case and you decide to ask for a refund, try contacting the customer care department via phone. They'll be the ones to handle that.Last edited: Feb 25, 2015 -

This is where we left, and starting from there I asked the people in charge of your case internally to obtain the information about the package and why it's weight is listed as it is right now.
They said that the order cannot be cancelled because it's a replacement order, that is true. However, you can still request a refund for the original order because of the issues that you've had. It's probably that the agent did not get exactly what you were referring to.
Anyway, you can wait until tomorrow when the unit arrives or you can contact them again and tell them that you want a refund for the original order.Last edited: Feb 25, 2015 -
"I can try getting you a supervisor" is just a lie. What they do is tell you one isn't available then tell you they'll get one to call you back, then you get no calls. -

The rest of the details of the call are related to the policies and procedures of the Customer Service Department and while I don't think the call was the best we could have, I believe that the person on the line will get the proper feedback from her manager if the call is monitored. There's always room for improvement, and it's never simple to respond to some complicated issues while on the line. Sometimes you need to make sure that all the info you are providing is 100% accurate and it takes time and thinking to do that.
If the OP would like me to escalate the person I can certainly do so, all I need is the person's name and I'll send a note to her supervisor saying that we heard the conversation and that the customer would like to provide some feedback about the call. Then we share the feedback from the OP with them. -
I can understand the reasoning behind the callback from a manager I work customer service for a warranty company and must of the time these managers have their plates full with other issues and there is a process put in place for callbacks because the issues take research time to resolve and there is other customers waiting for resolutions as well

Got mine at 1140 hrs today and it looks perfect.
Dell never updated my account to show I even had an order, so I'm assuming the order status doesn't apply to phone orders. The only confirmation I ever had was the invoice email from my CSR with the approximate ship date of 03/05. I did get an automated FedEx call this morning at 0800 hrs., with a tracking number and stating it was out for delivery. It also advised me a signature was required, but there was no sender info.
The Dell outer box is a little thin but no external damage to it. The AW box did have a crumbled corner but no damage to the PC. -

Cancel your order, find another company. They clearly don't give a crap about you at all.
From what I understand from the FTC, when a company sends you a product you order, but sends your more than one or the wrong order, you're allowed to keep them. They can't sue you or threaten you to give them back. -

Just got my Alienware 15 with 980m and 4K screen.
First impression is all about this wicked screen. I have a new companion screen coming for my desktop, as 1080p is going to be history for me, but right now this laptop screen is the best screen I have ever had.
I do have a mechanical keyboard I use most of the time when sitting at my desk, but right now I am choosing to use this machine and typing. First impression of typing on the keyboard is that its not bad at all, actually kind of great, but it sort of meshes a squishy soft feel together with a definite sudden difference in tactile push when you register a key press. Its a comfortable feel to type. This won't be a bad choice for typing on the go at all.
My first real gaming laptop was an MSI GT60 with a 770m, so this is a big step up, i definitely think the keyboard is better than that unit. A big part of that is even in the back lighting. Everything is about 100 percent smoother when typing and it looks about 200 percent better in a sense of overall style.
I loaded up Skyrim immediately to get a gist of what it was like to look at a game. It is beautiful. I didn't test or anything, and I know tomorrow I will make sure I get a 240 power supply from Dell. I already have the issue noted on my order. But it plays in Ultra as a default at 4K... I will try to get a frame rate to report on it once I have full power going.
I honestly bought this machine as a content creator. I can't imagine a better choice. I haven't installed/loaded any tools into this yet to describe any experience in this regard, but I am not experiencing any scaling issues. I will report back any that I find.
I did a little voice conferencing on it without a headset and the person on the other end said it was good quality even though he could tell I wasn't on my headset. Its kind of strange to hear the speakers on the front of the machine instead of back by the monitor, but whatever. -
It is a beautiful machine, I gave it a shot with some 4k content I had..it looks stunning. Unfortunately I have witness several issues with scaling, I have install several programs and most of them are unreadable. The lettering and log in prompt from steam are to small, and several other programs that make it extremely hard to use.

In some cases it doesn't matter how great the product is and how beautiful it is, if you treat customers like crap like Fahaed and I have been treated, then you're going to end up slowly losing people. There is no excuse for this kind of service.
I mean I do agree the Alienware laptops look pretty nice and they're probably of good quality, but I haven't been able to fully experience my laptop. Customer service has made it impossible to do anything, it's a constant fight with me on the phone all the time with them and e-mailing managers who e-mail other people so far. -
