What drive models did you all get, I ordered 2TB Raid 0 (2 x 1TB) and I'm hoping to get PM981a's or SN730's, has anyone else ordered the same drive configuration and can verify what drives they are?

How long does it take to get this thing shipped? I've been waiting since 07/10 and it still only says "confirmed".

Hey guys, I'm one click away from buying this machine with 10700k and 2070 Super. But I have this turmoil. 300hz vs 144hz with g-sync. I don't care about high refresh rate (144 is plenty), I play pretty much just RPG games. My only reasoning to go for 300hz is color coverage and contrast(and that feel of getting newer technology). I'm very sensitve to any kind of glitch, artifact or tear. People told me that 300hz is so fast that even when I'll be pushing only 100 fps, I won't notice any stutter, but I'm not sure. Can you please convince me to either one of these panels, so I can buy this beast in peace without feeling like I'm sacrificing something?
Thanks!c69k likes this. -

@Spartan@HIDevolution I'm about to order a silicon lottery cpu i9 10900k bin 5.0 GHz on all cores with delid so I don't bother doing it myself .
I was just wondering if it was really worth buying compared to the stock one I'm gonna get on my area 51m R2 ?
I know for sure the 5.1 would have made a huge difference but what about the 5.0? -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
You can try out the stock one which comes maybe you get a good one. For me personally, I wanna cut to the chase so that's why I've ordered the 5.1 GHz dedlidded Silicon Lottery CPU to have it exchanged with the stock one. I seriously have no more time or patience to try out if I get a good CPU or not.
In your case, even the 5.0 GHz would be better than any sotk 10900K. Heck if it even runs at the advertised speeds without overheating and thermal throttling that alone is worth it.

So I'm taking the delided 5.0 GHz so I just don't have to do a thousand different tests to see if I am lucky or not .
The only part I hate is having to change all those thermal pads and determine the size of them .
But after its been done it should run like a beastnormand668 and jclausius like this. -

Alienware Area-51m R2 System BIOS v1.3.0
To prevent this automatic blocking of files in the future so you don't have to go unblocking every file you download to ensure it runs properly, follow the guide in this thread:

@Prema ftw, we wouldn't be nowhere without his astronamical work he's done (saving even manufactuers like Clevo sometimes) To be fair, a DTR without Prema bios, is the same as a BGA turdbook with lockdown bios and an management eninge which runs on the loose (without Intel even having any control over it)ssj92 likes this. -
I will take those results with a hefty pinch of salt. Gelid GC Extreme does indeed do 0.2C better than Phobya (I'm now curious about their testing methodology, given the meaningless temp deltas), but actually it's our old friend Kryonaut which beats both Phobya and and Gelid by 1C. Of course, we know that Kryonaut can be OK initially, but unfortunately tends to lose its properties/pump out quickly.
Up until know, we've pretty much had a consensus on Phobya NGE being the best non-LM paste on the market, so we'll need a lot of solid data on both initial and long term performance to dethrone it. Mine is going strong after 10 months, whereas Kryonaut failed after 6.Kalen, Rei Fukai and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

I'm getting 310 fps on overwatch with both PSU and still getting 310 fps on overwatch with just the 330w power supply. -
-
ratchetnclank Notebook Deity
Playing witcher 3 which will max the gpu i get 165 fps on max settings with both psu.
With just on supply.
330w = 120 fps
240w = 70 fps.
They have definitely improved it.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

I suppose with it being a R2 with very minor changes and spec bump most places aren't bothering or not many have the machines yet?jclausius likes this. -

Would that be because the copper one is completely flat and the stock IHS a bit concave?
Since you work for them is there anyway you could do us another favor and ask them the thickness of the pads they're using and where exactly -
