Alienware Support Assist tells me that Nvidia wants to apply a firmware update 90.04.3F.00.62/63 to my RTX 2080 and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? Does anyone know what is it supposed to do that is better than the previous version? Google has absolutely no information about it.

That is the 180w VBIOS. The lowest power limit vBIOS.

Thanks for the reply but what does that actually mean for me? Why would I want to install it?

Less stress is put on the GPU itself I guess. But then you will also receive lower clockspeed in order to keep the temp under 75 C.

So Dell doesn’t need to spend more money on RMA and support than necessary. Lower stress on components will only gain Dell.
