hi guys, i saw that killer wifi drivers updated yesterday. I would like to know if you guys noticed any improvements on the disconnecting while downloading large files (such as an update of a game hehe).

The solution for the DC problem was this (posted on dell forum):

    thanks

I'm the one that posted that. I had opened up a ticket with Killer on the disconnect issue. They said they have found the cause and will be releasing a new driver version with the fix. Until then use that older driver version as it does not have the bug in it. I've been using that version for a couple weeks now and have had 0 WiFi drops with it. The current drivers would regularly drop connection during large file transfers.

Here's the full text of the response I got to my ticket.

    -------------

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. We have tested many different desktops and laptops and finally been able to reproduce this issue. It does not affect all platforms, so we had to determine which platforms could reliably reproduce the issue for us. We are working with our driver developers to fix future drivers, but for the time being, we have confirmed that using an older driver version for the Killer Wireless-AC adapter resolves the issue for the time being.

Please download the INF package for driver version 12.0.0.230 here:
    www.killernetworking.com/support/Killer-Wireless-AC_INF_12.0.0.230.zip

Then extract the package and install via Device Manager. If you need some guidance on how to install a driver via Device Manager, please refer to the first article this page of our knowledge base (Installing drivers without Killer feature set):

Even setting Roaming aggressiveness to lowest will fix disconnection problem.

That did not work for me.

I have not tried that one. Killer has been updating me on the ticket and they have not stated they have fixed it yet. Last I heard from them was late last week when they were asking to confirm my BIOS version.

Right click on the top level in Device manage and choose to scan for new hardware. It should show up again.

hey mate, i tried to unistall killer ethernet 2400 via device manager, then refresh and it appeared the ethernet2400 in other devices. But when i selected the place where the driveres were, windows said it couldnt install it, couldnt find setup, so i have to contact the factory.

know how can i install this version? im tired of getting disconnect bugs while updating my steam games.

Download the file from Dell and then locate the driver file

Simple double click on the file and it will install it.

I've found these newer drivers to be better than the ones that Dell is shipping with the recent Kaby Lake laptops. The Dell driver had dropouts every minute or so when saturating the connection. These allowed me about 3 minutes or so between disconnects.

I've since installed the bare drivers and seem to be having a better experience.

Along with standard drivers, use these tweaks used by @judal57 which helped people with similar issues, Goto Device Manager > Network adapters> Killer 1535, right click then click properties. Then, try these tweaks
    1. set Roaming aggressiveness to lowest
    2. Set channel preference to 2G or 5G.

Thanks for the tips. I have done so.

AW_Khan posted on Reddit last night that Rivet Networks has a beta driver that should address the disconnect issues once and for all. Hopefully that's actually true. He says the driver should be finalized in the next few days.

gonna try it. Which killer driver are you using? In my AW15R3, when i click on Killer icon at tray, it shows that my version is 1.1.65.1335 (last version at Dell support website).

edit: what does roaming agressiveness do? mine is set in "MEDIUM"
and what does the channel change do?

    I'm using a driver given by judal57.
Roaming aggressiveness means 1535 will search for better signal eventhough its connected to wifi.
Channel preference depends on your wifi router whether it supports 2.4GHz or 5G?

but as i mentioned, when i try to install those drivers (12.3.0 i guess, the ones you posted) via device manager, after removing the currently killer ethernet 2400, my windows says it couldnt install it.
I search the exactky folder and version (64 bits) of those drivers, but when click OK button, my windows doesnt install it. It says i should contact factory or something. Then i have to install currently drivers again, via setup.

Do you know why im getting this and if there is a setup file from this version that you are using?

All I did was unzip the drivers. got to the device manager, right click on the WiFi card, chose update drivers, choose browse my computer and then select the 64 bit folder.

Had a problem with the beta drivers this morning. Not sure if it was caused by the router or the drivers. My laptop was having problems seeing the drive attached to my router. A router reboot fixed it so it may be unrelated to the beta driver.

Guyz I wanted to know how you all know that your driver is not working properly. Will your wifi disconnect and reconnect randomly? or your having high ping? As for me I have the latest driver from killer network but without the bloatware. I used geekuninstaller to uninstall my previous driver. As of the moment I havent noticed any issues with the latest driver without the bloatware. So if you could teach me how to know certain problems of the driver so I can test it as well. Thanks. by the way I have the 1535 wireless killer network.

It has been working fine. I also got the note that Killer has promoted this to a release version. So for anyone having the Wifi drop issue during large transfers, the current release version should resolve it.

could you post here the link of the release version? is this beta you posted, or is a newer one?

P.s: this .zip file has to be installed via device manager right? is there a setup version ?

Also, the driver referer to Ethernet 2400 right? should i remove the other drivers of killer (1435, 1535_ WiFi Driver applicable for E2200_E2400 Ethernet 1.1.65.1335 a01)?

    thanks

EDIT: should i install the SUITE on killer website, the DRIVERS INSTALLATION 64bit file on "Others" section, or this PACKAGE you posted?

    Try this:
    http://www.killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/category/other-downloads
That's what I have. Make sure to uninstall the previous driver to just to make sure there is conflict. Uninstall the previous driver then restart your computer. After restarting windows will automatically install your wireless driver. Go to device manager again and uninstall it again. Once uninstalled you can now install the driver.

Even with beta drivers try these tweaks:
    1. Set Roaming aggressiveness to Lowest
    2. If you intend to connect to home Wi-Fi network, I'd say change the channel preference to either 2.4G or 5G.

I've installed the latest drivers on my 17R4 with the Killer 1535 with good results so far. I left everything alone after installing the full driver suite and I haven't had a single wireless drop while hammering the WiFi connection with a 10gb transfer.

I'm impressed that it finally seems to be fixed.

I installed the new drivers yesterday, without the Killer Suite in my 17 R3 with the AC 1535. Hoping it would solve the disconnection problem but since yesterday I've had one disconnection happened to me, not saying it's bad (it's much more stable now) but a bit disappointed it's still happening.

Just to make sure it wasn't a hardware problem on my side, during disconnection did anyone of you notice the wifi icon on the windows task bar disappear, replaced with the LAN icon and then reappear again this time connected?

Hi folks - we have just posted a new wireless driver and software suite that addresses a known issue on a small percentage of systems where the Killer Wireless module will drop the WiFi connection when passing a large amount of traffic. We have worked closely with Microsoft on this, and have identified a fix. This fix has been confirmed with several users that currently have the issue and we have posted a new software package. Please visit the link below to get the new driver:

@Killer_Networking we want the drivers only.. since your suite is not 100% reliable.. Sad to say this is mostly the mindset of the people who has your wireless card.. As I am one.. lol

This is correct. This is the original date that we posted an updated software release and driver packages which included this updated Wireless driver (12.0.0.296).

We posted the link a few posts up. We do provide both INF packages and Driver only installations for users who do not want to utilize our application prioritization software.
