Hi guys new to the forum but pretty desperate here and would appreciate some help.

Just got myself the new Alienware 15 laptop :

Intel Core i7-4710HQ Processor (6M Cache, 2.5 GHz)
    • 16 GB DDR3 RAM
    • 1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, 128 GB Solid-State Drive
    • 15.6-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 3GB GDDR5
    • Windows 8.1
    • Intel HD 4600
    • 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-Panel Anti-Glare 300-nits Display

The problem I have is a ghosting effect and a blurry screen on the desktop and during games . I have kind of addressed the desktop issue with the DPI compatibility and the clear type text feature. But during games it has a ghosting effect that makes me dizzy and really hurts my eyes' focus. Something I never experienced on a laptop before.

I have updated the Bios to A04, Updated the Nvidia driver and the Intel GPU and even rolled them back to no avail.

I also connected the machine to an external display but it's still embarrassingly fuzzy and the trailing is very bad. I used the ufo test and the results are just a joke compared to my 4 yrs old HP laptop!!

Sorry If this is the wrong forum of the wrong place, But I hope anyone can help me.

    Thankyou.

I'd recommend you to post this on the Aw 15 Owner's lounge. There's been a discussion about this topic before there.

I too am also experiencing this issue. I have owned several Alienwares. (including my wife's systems) I have owned Two M15x, M17x R1, M17x r3, Two Alienware 14, and now an Alienware 15.
They all had a 1080p screen except the m15x which had a 900p screen. All of the screens had very acceptable levels of blur / response time issues. (There's always going to be response time issues with all LCDs) However this is to the point where it stands out and I have never experienced this level of blur. :(
I hope we can figure out a solution to this as its quite disappointing to have such a high end laptop with such nice parts in it.

I'm experiencing some nasty screen tearing on Crysis 1, it only gets stupidly worse if I plug the laptop to my tv, I know not the ame thing on the thread but I don't wanted to make a thread 'bout it.

I don't mean to be in anyway rude or disrespectful; but how is directing him to the Owners Thread help this situation. It was discussed there several times with no resolution. It also has been discussed several times in individual threads, some of which you have replied and said you were in the process of dealing with it and waiting a reply from engineers or some escalated team. Whatever happened to that?
These laptops aren't exactly cheap. I feel that Alienware customers deserve to get legitimate issues resolved. Especially when they have sunk much time into the troubleshooting and warranty process. Some people take days off work, or spend hours on the phone dealing with issues that technically could never be resolved by troubleshooting.
