Congrats! Welcome to the mothership LOL...

    1. Do a fresh install of Windows of your choosing.
    2. Go to Dell's site, enter in your service tag / express service code and download all the recommended drivers.
    3. Record your temps and report them back here if you can. (CPU and GPU Idle and Max temps.) Depending on if you're happy with them or not, you always have this option :)

Before we get too far, spend some time reading through the forums as you'll find a ton of great info, along with the answers to your questions.

Also, check out the 17R3, lounge. Those are the sticky threads up on the very top of the forum. Use the search and it'll pin point you in the right direction.

Out of curiosity, what are your AW's specs? What configuration did you end up getting..

    Cheers

I had a budget to stick with so I need some advice about what I did not get.
    Intel i7-6820HK, 4K screen,16GB Memory,GTX 980M,1TB 7200RPM,Windows 10 Pro, Intel 8260 2x2 802.11ac 2.4/5GHz + Bluetooth4.2
I have a 1TB Samsung EVO SSD I plan to install, but need advice on which M.2 drive to use.

Excellent set up. The 6820HK is a monster.

I'd recommend getting anything Samsung for your m.2 :)

If money isn't an issue, go with the m.2 950 Pro.

However, since you've mentioned that you're on a budget, the Evo m.2 is excellent as well.

You won't really tell the difference speed wise with real world usage.

    Pro has 10 years warranty.

    Evo has 5 years warranty.

    Either way...WIN-WIN with Samsung.

Thanks, I am on a budget, but that is why I did not go with the Dell drives. Thought the money better spent on Samsung drives. I don't need this unit to game, I have a 980ti desktop to do that. I want to use it for 4K video rendering. What is the model of your M.2? Would I need that B4 reloading the OS?

I have the Samsung 950 Pro m.2 SSD.

I'd recommend making you m.2 your boot drive and your 2.5" your slave drive.
