    hi everyone,

i have the aw 17r3 with the 6700hq which i haven't fiddled with and i'm looking to do some undervolting.

i had done so once in the past to great success, but with this expensive laptop ima be more cautious and try probe other people's results first.

so by how much were you able to UV the 6700hq with no crashes at max load?, and how much temperature imprpvement did you receive?

You cannot break it by undervolting. The worst thing that can happen it will just crash.

My 15r3 perfectly working with -150 undervolt without crashes, maybe it can do more, but I haven't tried. Maximum temperature while playing is around 80, while at stock voltages it was throttling with max around 93.

firstly, try enabling CPU performance mode in BIOS, it makes fans more responsive and can easily drop temps.

secondly, it's not harming the hardware that worries me, it's corrupting my OS from too many unexpected shutdowns.

Yeah both my original and replacement capped at -150mv in games. They would pass higher in occt but crash in games.

do you think that dropping 70mv from the get go is safe?, and do i drop the cpu cache voltage by the same amount?

UVed by 125mv on core and cache voltage, impressive results, lost around 12 degrees with no performance hit, stability seems good, no crashes after an hour of bf1
