nothing to do with cpu dying, cpu is usually the one last the longest. its the cpu soldering to other component dies makes u replace a golden cpu, if you had bga.
dont bother asking him dude. you would think someone can oc that high would start a thread asking which thermal paste is the best. he didnt bother do EC mod, nor did he overclock to 5.1ghz. simple as it is, he might have booted with like 5ghz and crash shortly after and thats giving him benefit of the doubt if he even bother tried that high, assuming his computer actually allowed it.
especially saying cpu is somewhat obsolete and in games is even more evident he has no clue about high performance gaming. if cpu is obsolete then there wouldnt be all the hate between ryzen and intel cpu gaming performance.
with all these points sometimes u just dont need proof to know bs when you hear it

Anyway, I've figured out what I need to with OC and stuff, so uh thanks!
But since we all love dell's toothpaste, this is what I got when I opened it up last night to re-apply the thermal paste.
