    Which backpacks are y'all using with your Alienware 15? I'm about to buy this computer for business, but the massive 12" width is killing me in trying to find a backpack online that will fit it. Plus it needs to be something that looks fairly professional and is a good brand. Thanks for the help!

    You need to use backpacks for 17" laptops because of the size of the A15. I recommend Orion or Vindicator (but they are not very cheap).

    Thing is, most 17" laptops aren't even 12" wide. It's such a pain. Most 17" laptop bags accommodate 11" or so, but it's hard finding them over that. I was trying to steer clear of the Alienware specific packs, and go with something from TNF, Marmot, Mountain Hardware, etc.

    Why stay away from the Alienware backpacks? They are pretty quality and durable and nice. I have a 15" vindicator and it's nice and slim. Might buy the Orion to have some more room for traveling.

    He needs a professional looking one. Alienware puts a giant rubber alien-head on theirs unfortunately.

    @KP Texan
    Does it have to be a backpack? Plenty of satchels / shoulder bags / messenger bags that would fit.

    It's hardly a giant alien head. I think it looks fairly professional. Solid black from a distance. Also it's a backpack. No one that can use a backpack needs it to be any more professional than the AW one.

    If it needs to more professional than the aw backpack then chances are a backpack is not acceptable at all honestly.

    Well it isn't really over the top; but where I work, if the IT team used them, they would beaked kindly to use something else.

    Still could go this route:

    Yes this is pretty much it. I'm not saying the AW backpack looks bad, but I'm looking for something a bit different for my work environment. I'm in software sales so it's sort of casual but I still try to stay professional. For the amount of running through airports I do, I would prefer a backpack but I suppose a shoulder bag could work. I was just trying to avoid it since a backpack seems better to me for this purpose.

    Although an XPS15 w/ GTX 1050 would run the software, I was hoping to move up to the AW 15 w/ GTX 1060 so it will work well for sure into the future. The thing is just difficult to fit into a bag!
