NVIDIA has been on a roll lately with its new Pascal architecture, with the huge releases of the new GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards, while the rumors of an imminent launch of the mid-range GTX 1060 could be around the corner. nvidias-next-gen-titan-50-faster-geforce-gtx-1080_04 How does it get better? Well, news is now arriving on the next-gen Pascal-based Titan X successor. VR World is reporting that they've had hands-on time with the GP102-based GeForce GTX Titan card, with a few details on NVIDIA's new monster. NVIDIA's next-gen Titan X successor will feature both 8+8 and 8+6-pin PCIe power connectors, with the PCIe power connectors being found at the front of the card, and not on top. The 8+8-pin power connectors will provide up to 375W TDP, while the 8+6-pin version will provide 300W. Performance-wise, it should be a monster with around 50% more horsepower over the already lightning quick GTX 1080. The new Pascal-based Titan X successor will reportedly be 12 inches long, while the new Titan X successor will arrive in 12/16GB versions (as we've previously reported) rocking HBM2 memory. VR World's sources say that the new GPU is actually now bound by the CPU, with NVIDIA's engineers reportedly saying that even Intel's new Core i7-6950X isn't powerful enough to deliver the performance the new Titan cards need in enthusiast level scenarios. We should expect NVIDIA to unveil its new Titan P at Gamescom, which takes place in Cologne, Germany between August 17-21, 2016.

I guess game over for amd
-
Team Red has no chance against Team Green. It is game over...
AMD has officially downgraded their image to a, "Wally World Budget Bargain Card," status.
Yea yea...they have their place in the market, but what I don't get is for someone spending hundreds on building a computer anyway, they can't save up a little more for at least a GTX 1070? SMH...if they can't then maybe they shouldn't be spending money on a computer in the first place LOL...
I couldn't sleep at night with an AMD GPU in my desktop...it is what it is...
Game OVER Team Red. I used to be a huge AMD fan, but they dropped the ball and have dug a hole too deep to climb out of....oh well...
Good luck in the budget market. -
Yeah amd should had at least a high end card next to the mid range card they offet now. It is true that the ost money is in the mid range market but you need a flagship card to promote that. Nvidia has the quickest high end card and auronatically less informed people think the same about the mid range market.
Nvidia is ramping up those prices though. The 1070 and 1080 are nowhere near the RRP and priced a tier higher. The 1080 like a 980ti at launch and the 1070 at 980 levels. So i refuse to buy one. Bot that i lack the money. But i think it is bot a fair price for what it offers. -

I will wait out a bit. I would love to change to a 1080. Sold my 980ti 4 months ago. Now running a single 970, sold my second 970 as well. -
Yes.... "Brexit".......... You know, after the decision was made, the most searched term on the internet shortly afterwards was "what is the EU?"............Fools...
Anyway, I also just sold my rather heavily overclocked 970 so that made up some of the spend on the 1080 which is ridiculous, it's literally twice as fast if not more than the 970. I'm struggling to find games to test it with. Everything is maxed out!!iunlock likes this. -
I sold two desktop GTX 980's and am contemplating selling my Titan X, although I feel no need to go that far just yet.. Not until at least I see some benchmarks with a 1080Ti or this new Titan X/P. I need one GPU that will play all games maxed out at 4K with solid 60FPS minimum. Until then, I will happily observe & enjoy what I have.

GTX 1080Ti? nVidia please take my money!

Nvidia's GTX 1060 Outperforms Radeon RX 480, Matches GTX 980 In Leaked Benchmarks
Leaks! Leaks everywhere! Following the recently leaked specifications for Nvidia’s Pascal-based GTX 1060, a pair of 3DMark Firestrike benchmarks have slipped out reinforcing the belief that Nvidia’s GTX 1060 will outperform AMD’s Radeon RX 480 by about 15 percent. Better still, it looks to be going toe to toe with Nvidia’s Maxwell-based GTX 980 — a card that launched for $549.
XFastest originally posted the 3DMark Firestrike results, and they were spotted by WCCFTech. As you can see below, the GPU-Z window looks authentic and indeed is populated with specs that line up with the leaked numbers, right down to the 1709MHz boost and the 1280 CUDA Cores. However, I’ll eat crow here: I was certain we’d see 4GB and 8GB variants of the GTX 1060, but if this leak is genuine it proves that we’re getting 3GB and 6GB models.
A bit about Firestrike before we analyze these numbers. This is a widely used synthetic benchmark from 3DMark that tests a system’s overall graphics capabilities, but it’s not a replacement for real-world gaming results. However, time and time again it tends to provide a fairly accurate snapshot of the competitive advantage one card can have over another.
It looks like the card was tested using an Intel Core i7-6700K, which provides slightly less performance in gaming than the Core i7-5960x used on our bench at TweakTown. Still, it posted a 1080p Firestrike score of 11225. Compare this to our Radeon RX 480 (8GB) score of 10600. Even if we put the RX 480 on the bench with a 5960x, I doubt it could hit 11225 without being overclocked.
Ramping things up to the Firestrike Ultra benchmark (that strains the system with a demanding 4K graphics test), we see a score of 3014, which bests the RX 480 but also challenges Nvidia’s GTX 980 for dominance. Remember that the GTX 980 launched with a hefty $549 price tag. In fitting with Nvidia’s generational leap and price drops compared to the 900 series, the GTX 1060 is expected to launch at $249 to put serious pressure on AMD in the mainstream, sub-$300 bracket.
But there’s another important factor here: to the best of my knowledge, no one in the tech press even has the GTX 1060 driver yet, which means we could see even higher scores once official testing begins.
We’re still not sure when GTX 1060 cards are going out for review (though based on images around they web they’re clearly in the hands of some) and don’t have any embargo information, but they’re usually not far behind leaks like this. The Radeon Rx 480 vs GeForce GTX 1060 battle will begin in earnest this month.

Safe the assume that the 1080M will have a greater edge over the 1060 this time around?
NVIDIA's next-gen Titan could be 50% faster than GTX 1080
