With the Mod you can simply raise the voltage by using nvidia Inspector or EVGA Precision X.

The AC Adapter will probably dictate the limit in these systems.
The Maxwell cards in general can actually reach up to 1500Mhz...

Have you tried going back to the previous driver? I was getting crazy stuff happening on 355.82 and I'm on the stock vBIOS:

    PSX_20150918_143720.jpg

I went back to 355.60 and I have no issues!

    Hey Everyone,

First, Prema, thank you for putting this out. Seeing the community support out there is awesome.

Secondly, when the description says that this vBios reduces throttling, are we talking about throttling on the GPU or CPU? I've been having a great deal of throttle issues on my 17r2 clocking back to 800mhz while gaming. It will sit there for about a minute and then click back up. It will run stably between 2.5 and 3.3 and then clock back again. Weird thing is that the temps aren't that high. CPU never goes above 75 degrees and the throttling appears to happen at random outside of any obvious temperature spikes. Now, is that a totally different issue (ie my system is lemon) or would this vBIOS correct throttling on the CPU?

    Cheers!

you literally just answered your own question.......... V bios
    video.........bios..........videocard

would be sweet if it fixed my cpu power limit throttling too....

Not necessarily. CPU throttling on these machines has been observed to be dependent on GPU load. That might be a heat issue, but nVIDIA drivers do manage threads on CPU load and both share the same power and heat pool. My question is if these are managed independently or not. So it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that changing the vBIOS can have a direct effect on CPU throttling.

Thankfully VBIOS is safer than the main PC BIOS ergo the HD4600 will still work allowing you to reflash multiple times to the 980m GPU.

    Does your 980m still work?

I have a backup I can post should it not contain personal details bespoke to my pc?

My pc is cooler with a medium OC because the gpu fan spin a little bit more and the cpu benefict about this. I want to ask if you know how to unlock the Bios? and if you know it, can you unlock the A06? i want to see raid option and advanced options, thanks.

Sweet, it worked. Thanks. Can you add the solution to "No NVIDIA display adapters found" (disabling 970m or so driver) in the first post so others like myself don't have to search for it.

Update: Donation added, Thank you again.

@Prema This quote should serve some use for the 13 R1. It's for the GTX 860m, though. Couldn't find the GTX 960m vBIOS in this forum.
Worse, I'm not sure which GTX 860m it is as there are two GTX 860m vBIOSes for the 13 R1. I think it's the one for Broadwell 13 R1 (Haswell 13 R1 is different).
In total, I think there are 3 vBIOSes for the 13 R1.
    Haswell R1 + GTX 860m
    Broadwell R1 + GTX 860m
    Broadwell R1 + GTX 960m

    OK, THX!
If the AW 13 vBIOS is hosted in sBIOS I probably won't touch it until its EOL, otherwise it has to be redone for every new BIOS update.

The A03 and A04 BIOS revisions did say,
    "Update Nvidia vBIOS".
Not sure how that user extracted the vBIOS, and it does explain why I could never extract the vBIOS. And there haven't been any new BIOS revisions, so... great.

OK, get me a AW13 "A04" sBIOS dump (that other one is an old test BIOS from back in March).

    EDIT: Check your inbox. :)

EDIT: Oh well, that even was an A04 dump, just took them months to publish it...LOL

EDIT: Game7a1 is now testing the AW 13 Mod.

Hi guys, I installed the mod and my Firestrike score went up from 5764 to 6795. Thank you Prema.
    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6174165
But I thought It should have been higher so what can I do to improve the benchmark? I am using a 17R2 with a 980m, bios A01 and a 180w psu.

You need a 240w adapter and also use A06. If you change those two things you should see scores above 8K in Firestrike.
I have both a 240w and a 180w. If I play a game with Fraps running and run on battery I get one low frame rate say 15 FPS. If I then plug in the 180w I then get a higher frame rate say 35/40 FPS. If I then plug in my 240w I then get 60+ FPS. Clearly the adapter matters, not just for throttle spikes either.

    try windows 10 or
ask dell for refund with new i7 6700hq
seriously that's just unacceptable scores for 17 inch
    mine is 15 inch
we have same config i7 4710hq/980m

you need the 240W adapter or you are not going to see a difference overclocking. your normal score is supposed to be 8200

i have a 970m with 240W adapter and my socre is 8180 making OC. without increasing voltage and a normal OC my score is 7400-7500.

Here is the stock 980M vBIOS and a batch file to flash back to stock.
    https://mega.nz/#!fEUCGJpL!xUELlOj_KJ-ajsER_E-JchWfnFp09hxqhPL7klgdh6E

*WARNING. This is for systems with the 980M only.

Creating a batch to flash other cards is simple. Just look at the batch and place your original vBIOS in the folder.
