Must do tweaks/software 17r3 gtx 980m

Just unwrapped my new r3 17 6700hq 16gb gtx 980m m2 951 Samsung 256gb 1 tb with 4k screen, killer wifi 1530. Have several questions, as of now i'm getting Firestrike score of 7882 (graphics 8932/PS 9767 CS 3631) What is everyone using to overclock there GPU? Is the Prema mod vbios something i just pretty much double click on? Only option i see in Bios is enable performance cpu mode, set it to enable? Not having the best luck with Killer wifi, seems to do better with the windows drivers over the killer suite drivers. Is the 6700hq not overclockable, none of my setting in XTU are overclockable.. thinking maybe i should of waited for the 6820 but for $1500 tax, shipping included i couldnt pass on this deal.

 

First of all do a fresh install.

Regarding the killer network drivers, dowload the latest from the rivet killer network site. They are much better.

Dont play around with the bios if you dont have any experiences with it. You have to bacup your old one as well to be sure etc.

Anyway. download precision x from evga. I experienced some issues and bugs with afterburner on alienware laptops myself. Add 135mhz to the core (max in precision without modding it) and 150mhz to the memory. You will have a much better performance with these settings and a fresh install. Good luck!

 

A fresh install?? Of windows?? Why would this improve anything with firestrike??

 

For some reazon the stock dell image isnt that well performing, your score should at least top 8300 overall.

 

How do we do a fresh install without having to buy another copy of windows 10? It comes with the laptop but no key?

 

You can download the media creation tool from microsoft for creating a bootable Windows 10 installation drive. The key is stored in your bios. So it will be unlocked automatically.
