As subject suggestion, there is a cable I've been looking at ( http://shopap.lenovo.com/nz/en/itemdetails/0B47091/460/67FB3393C9474D4EBB539D3DC944B8CE ), as you may have guess, do you think this cable can do 120/144Hz?

I have a 144Hz capable monitor at home and I've been trying to look for a cable that can do 120Hz minimum, but this is the only cable that is available (and with reasonable price) in NZ, but if anyone can suggest different cable, that would be great.

Oh yeah the monitor I had is AOC G2460Pqu, and yes it also accept DVI-DL as well.

The specs are right on the website: 21.6Gbps, 4096x2160 x60Hz.
So if you're thinking 1080 @ 120Hz/144Hz there should be no problem whatsoever, as this would be roughly half of rated bandwidth.
Now, if you want to run 2160p @120Hz, that would be twice rated bandwidth, I'm not sure.

    1440p @ 120Hz works for me. 144Hz doesn't work

But that would be more hardware/settings issue than a cable issue me think.

Yea I think it's a hardware issue with the 980m.

When I get the cable, then I will be able to test it out.

One thing I forgot to mention is that, the monitor I had can only output 1080p which is enough for me, I only want the higher refresh rate though, and yeah I also saw the spec as well but because I cant make out the number - not sure how much is enough for 1080p @ 144Hz would take. So thanks for the confirmation :)

cable will be fine, no worries, everything else, that's another story, you may need to play with custom settings, your monitor may be outputting 120Hz on screen, but may not accept 120Hz input etc. only testing will tell you for sure.

Keep it as short as possible for up to 144hz operation, that one looks ok.
