I have a new M.2 ready and waiting for my new AW15 to arrive. I am reading around that Dell hasn't provided no screws for either M.2 holder bracket screw down hole.

Haven't gone the machine yet, but if this is true, then I will need one before it gets here.

If so, what the feck are they thinking, how much can a tiny screw cost!

Where the hell I am meant to find a screw this small from!?

If this is the same for the AW17 R2 with 4x M.2 slots, then that beyond stupidity.

In any case can only order with one M.2 drive installed, that would mean just one actual screw. Then Dell shows a photo of the bottom with the AW17 R2 fully loaded with M.2 drives. Wonder how someone is meant to fill all these without any goddamn screws!

Just contact them and complain and see if they'll send you the screws for free.

Alternatively just go to any hardware store and ask them for: M2.0 x 3mm Black Screws (the color doesn't really matter)

You'll get four for literally a dollar. They're dirt cheap.

Never seen these screws in any hardware stores in New Zealand, just big old screws and bolts. Never the less stupid they don't supply with unit, what a hassle. Whats the bet when I contact the sales rep, they will not have a clue what these are, serious doubt getting them from anyone at Dell in the ANZ region.

Try a computer store or just look online. They're relatively popular.

And yeah I agree they should just send the units with all the screws installed.

The sales rep might not be able to help you but call their parts department or technical support.

Well then that mean I'll be also in trouble, since the configuration I go for has no M.2. I should be start looking for the screw as well then. Though the first problem would be what does the screw's name is?

Edit: Nevermind, I didnt read Cookie981's post properly, I just found one from Amazon: 24 Pack of M2 x 3mm Small Laptop Screws Black Zinc The good thing is that, they do ship it to NZ.

If you have any old 2.5 harddrives laying around you can take one from the casing of the drive, they will fit as well
