    Loose SATA connection?

    Yes, it is detachable, from the motherboard. You see that black piece (sticking up) on the metal connector? That's so you can pull up on that, it takes a bit of force, but it comes off. You will need to take that off to change your HDD like I did, or if you think it's loose, you can also just apply pressure down on the metal connector and see if that helps.

    With that said... I've never heard of that becoming loose though (maybe others have). I'd check to see if the HD is recognized in the bios before futzing around with the cable - the cable is probably ok.

    It is NOT possible for that to be loose. As jeff mentioned, it takes considerable amount of force to pull it out. So either it works or it does not.
