First I apologize if this has been covered. Perhaps my search game is not strong.

I would like to replace the display panel in my Alienware 17r4 with something that looks a bit better. I haven't been able to find any real information.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a 120hz panel and part number?

I currently have the 1080p display. It can hit about 64hz before going completely bonkers.

Not extremely impressed with the display and I feel like I'm selling short the capabilities of the computer.... Especially considering I also have the aw17r3 and as far as any difference between the two units I really haven't noticed anything impressive while gaming. Perhaps its all in what I am actually lookin at while playing.

Anyways, if anyone is able to offer some good information on a panel upgrade, 120hz would be prefered, that would be absolutely awesome.

I do understand that if I move up from the resolution I would need to replace the edp cable.

Again sorry if this has been covered!

Computer (if this makes any difference):
    Aw 17r4
    1080 ips display
    Gtx1070 (samsung mem)
    Tobii
    256 nvme xg4
    16gb mem

Which model number did you get? I know the OP got the 1.2 version of that panel. But supposedly the 1.0 version is gsync compatible.

If you have a non gsync version. You cannot upgrade to a gsync panel after.
