    Hey guys,
I was browsing through the internet when I found a video of someone flashing a modded bios to his Asus ROG laptop with the GTX 970M 3GB and getting a super high over clock beating the 980m stock! After watching that video now I really want to do the same to my AW17! He provided links to his Bios rom & NVflash but its not compatible with my laptop so I was wondering if anyone could share an unlocked bios with me to achieve higher overclocks?

Awesome! I found that the most stable OC for my card was +350 GPU CLOCK and +250 Memory Clock!
My expectations weren't met though because most overclock I saw were +515 GPU CLOCK but its still awesome how I can get such a big performance increase just by moving flashing a bios and messing with PrecisionX! For some reason I cannot move the power target slider, also I'm interested in seeing how much you were able to push your GPU?

use nvidia inspector if you want to increase the voltage.
in my case i dont like to do that, i can overlock to +150, +(300-450) without increase the voltage http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9025945
if i increase the voltage i cant remember ecxactly but was something like +300, +540 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/8730681

You probably need the 240W power adapter. the 180W that comes with the 970m likely is not enough to overclock that far.

Yea I was up last night messing trying to see how far I could push my gpu and I can get it to 400 Mhz Core and 400 Mhz Mem before it starts getting laggy and the screen starts flickering. I actually emailed dell and requested a 240v PSU hopefully they reply today.

The 180watt psu is not enough for overclocking your system. You are killing your battery which also will be used as a power supply at the same time

I dont agree with that. I have 180w power supply and have my 970m overclocked to +135 and +280. Never touches the battery and see no performance issues. Initially i worried about this but since ive run it have seen no problems. Probaly depends on bios I still run the A00 because i use to have a 240 watt power supply but sold my Alienware 17r1 the required it.

Check xtu, you will probably see some power throttle instead. When i oc'ed my old r1 with the 970m i noticed that the 180watt was definitely not enough.
