    Good evenings guys,

    It's been a long time since I've been on here posting anything in relation to owning an Alienware laptop. I last time owned an Alienware, was with an 880m which was running a vbios from Tech Inferno. I see brother Fox is still here and providing lots of info on known problems Alienware is still creating for themselves. Nice Mr. Fox.

    Anyway guys, I've recently just purchased an Alienware m17 R2, with the i7950h and the RTX 2070MQ. The price was fairly ok, since the "refreshed" R3 model is now out with the super GPU's.

    Now I know the 9th gen intel processors are notorious for hitting high temps. I also know the RTX 2070MQ isn't the best out of bunch of mobile GPU's.

    Since owning the laptop. I've undervolted by -125mv on both the core and cache. I've also lowered the boost to 3.4 ghz. It seems to suit me fine playing most new titles. But I just feel like I can get higher boost and better thermal headroom from both the CPU and GPU.

    Now I've repasted with ICD7, and my temps are;

    CPU - 80c average
    GPU - 75 average.

    I want to achieve a higher consistent boost and also try to keep my GPU boosting consistently.

    I figured the best way to do this is adjust my undervolts and boost clock settings. But also I'll need to apply LM and copper shims.

    Could you guys please advise me on what shim sizes I would need for both the CPU and GPU? Would it also be better to use tape around the dyes and change the thermal pads?

    Cheers in advance
