So I took my new Alienware 17 with killer Wireless 1535 traveling for the first time and I decided to use the Wireless Display feature. The hotel limited the wireless network to 5mbps and was using 5ghz. When I had Wireless Display connected I noticed that my network connection dropped to about 2-2.5mbps. Is this normal for Wireless Display to slow down the network connection like that?

Yes, and it can get worse. Your constantly using the WiFi card to ping out and back at local networks. If you have it open it will absolutely tank the **** out of your bandwidth.

How did you use widi with the 1535? I thought it was an Intel only thing.

WiDi works on Miracast so maybe that's why? Anyway it works just not practical when used with WiFi for internet apparently.
