So I'm not impressed with my new AW17 R2.

Right out of the box, the question mark key was not even fully attached to the keyboard. The right side of the key was tilted upwards.

I pushed it down hard until I heard a click and thought that was it. It stayed there, seemingly solid, until today when it popped up again.

Then I noticed that the "Esc" key has the same issue, BUT it also feels too close to the side of the frame that surrounds the keyboard so that when it's pressed down, there is some friction / resistance when it comes back up.

Has anyone experienced issues like this with the keyboard?

Maybe I should have gone with a MSI GT72 instead. The Steelseries keyboards on those are great.

If you let us take a look at it, it's a simple fix. We can send a tech to take out that keyboard and install a new one for free if the machine has a warranty. Send us an email to [email protected] with your service tag and a brief description of the issue so we can get you sorted out.

Thanks! Too late though. Called customer service to have the unit exchanged with a whole new one.

Plus, I think something I just bought / that's still within return period shouldn't have to be serviced so soon.

We always offer that as our first option because it takes less time to fulfill.

Hello, that isn't always the case, maybe is varies by country?

    - I haven't been offered that (system replacement).
    - I have asked for it, but I'm told my case still doesn't apply for that.
    - 1st service was requested 2 days after I received the laptop.
    - Today my laptop will be opened for the 4th time.
    - I received the laptop 5 weeks ago (April 21st).
    - This is in México.

    Thanks!

I handle only the US and Canada. But, I meant to say "that" as in technician to replace the part rather than "that" as in replacing the system. :p
