That is one very cheap price. It says 2.5 inches which means it should fit into the Alienware 13 but I can't understand why a 512GB SSD would be so cheap.

Those may be knock offs, though some of the sellers seem reputable....hmmm...then again, it all started with the knock off flash drives....perhaps what you're seeing is likely an evolution in the scam...
I'd be careful....but I'm curious myself... -
You see 480 - 512GB SSD's go on sale for 125ish on newegg all the time. I got a 240GB SanDisk SSD for 60 bucks at best buy, for comparison.
SanDisk drives are decent, pretty good value for the money. I run one in my desktop.
X300 series is marketed towards corporate/government applications, has something to do with encryption and data protection. How this affects normal use I do not know. -
Nope. Its a different seller. The link is going to a different listing for some reason. I can't find the original listing anymore. I assume they ran out and it got deleted then replacedLast edited by a moderator: Apr 8, 2016 -
You can either install one 2.5" drive or two M.2 2280 SSDs, depending on the bay you have (2.5" SATA Bay or M.2 Bay).
Any SSD should be fine, though. But be weary of which form factor you get. As well, It seems the X300 has also been tested in the 13 R2 as there are drivers for it (for some odd reason).
Is this really a legitimate SSD and will it work on the Alienware 13 R2?
