Is there anyone who wants to unlock 1080 tdp to 200W for AW 17 R4 GTX 1080 edition?

temp is ok but if you have changed the thermal paste
you can find vbios with your device id on google:
such as 10de 1be0 , you will find about 3 vbios on techpowerup
but if you flash it , you can not flash back to orginal vbios
I suggest to flash that gigabyte one
    hope you enjoy it ,
and you can watch my video on

Yes me and many others I'm sure! We'll also need the voltage to go up from 1.063 V too. Alienware are aware and are increasing the power soon. At least to 180W from what I've heard.hopefully we'll get more than that (200W would be nice) and the voltage will go up as well. We will hear more in the 2nd week of Feb I believe guys

200w is too much for that heatsink in my opinion. they had to use vapor chamber or something like that for the 200w

The voltage on the MSI which has a 180W+ TDP is the same.

Nah, the GPU still stays cool (high 50's - low 60's) at 200w, even on systems without the vapor chamber. Plus they already said they designed the thermal headroom for 180w.

Vapor chambers are a bit more like vapor ware. No vapor chamber equipped cooler really performs better. In the end its a small die and the heatpipes are sufficient enough to pull the heat away from the die. Its all about the heatsink size itself in these cases.

Is this also possible with a 1070? And will it remove the pwrcap?

you can try it , I don't have time to test, but I have flashed the 1060 edition and it helps
and if you want to change the tdp on 1070, you may need a PROGRAMMER to flash the vbios and there are two vbios chip on the board

As Dreamonic from Voltground said, you can't use NVflash to change Mobile Pascale GPU bios with a custom one : http://www.voltground.com/haven/threads/94/

And there's a second check that just bricks the GPU if "Falcon" VBios'zone is modified.

that 1080 edition on 17 r4 I flashed is not a custome one it's really a official vbios , and I had flashed it to msi and gigabyte vbios to test.
I suggest to flash the gigabyte one

Ok, ok. Just wanted to know as some experiments have been done with desktop VBios on Laptop GPU to unlock power limit.
I didn't know there was Official Notebook Bios with higher PL for GTX 1080.

But not being able to revert back to stock VBios can be an issue.

By the way, any specifics about G-Sync/Optimus with those VBios?

They are working on a vBIOS that unlocks the power limit further.
    Stay Tuned...

Anyone flashing vBIOS(s) from random systems should realize they can brick the mobo pretty easy.
I wouldnt suggest that people start randomly flashing random vBIOS(s) from other systems.
Plus, a BGA laptop has a differently slightly differently designed VRM since its all on one PCB.
Im not saying another vBIOS wont work but its really a craps shoot.
    I'd just wait.

Did you back up the stock vBIOS?

    Not saying its not ok.
I merely wrote that so a bunch of people don't go flashing random vBIOS(s) and have to mobo swap.

    So what are your results?
    Whats your temps?
    Whats your clocks?
    What TDP are you hitting?

What stops you from flashing vBIOS back?
    What error do you get?

Have you tried an older version?
If recall correctly this same issue happened with the R3.
Many resolved it by going to an older version.

Have you tried an older version that still had pascal support?
In the past sometimes older versions of Nvflash has been a solution.
    Just a thought. :)
