I accidentally reinstalled Windows 10 on my Samsung EVO SSD in Intel RST rather than the usual AHCI.

    What are advantages/disadvantages?

    Should I just leave it?

You mean there's an option to set your drive to Intel RST in the BIOS? I never heard of that before. Intel RST is software as far as I know that's used to manage RAID arrays.

From my understanding, OP used Intel RST to set his SSD as a cache drive and subsequently found that the OS has transferred to it.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

Some how, some way, in the BIOS it shows it's set to Intel RST. My OS is installed on the correct Samsung EVO SSD, but when I try to set it to AHCI it'll reboot to an error message saying there is no recognized bootable drive/device.

IRST is a drive management software system. ACHI is the drive mode - they're not the same thing. IRST has a better AHCI driver than MS.

Okay so you're saying it actually worked out for the better and I should I leave it as is with Intel RST with my EVO SSD?
