I go straight to nvidia website to download the driver for the gpu, but I still rely on Dell's driver for the Intel gpu. Recently I've been thinking whether to download straight from Intel as well because it seems to offer more improvements and fixes from that side. Any comments?

From my experience I used to go to intel website and download the latest gpu driver for my laptop. I thought latest was best. I was wrong. I have a alienware 17 r3 and I have experience BSOD due to the intel GPU driver. What happened was everytime I lock my laptop after a few minutes I get a BSOD. Went back to Dell website and installed the intel GPU from dell and now I don't have any problems. Maybe It's just me. Just sharing my experience. Hope it helps. For nvidia I always get it directly from them and used DDU all the time.. :) :) :)

Dell. but make sure you have windows driver updates turned off, or blocked them at least for the intel driver.

The intel version can have bugs when using the Alienware graphics amp.

    from my experience, Dell.

for the nvidia card you can go to nvidia, but for the iGPU it's best to stick with the ones Dell provide.

Thanks. Guess I will stick to the Dell version for the time being since we have the same laptop

the reason I was considering to go Intel was because I checked for the latest driver on Intel website, and the list of improvements and fixes in the change log seems tempting

Support for Vulkan API and numerous performance fixes for games on Windows 10. I mean who seriously game with Intel graphics :D but still improvements none the less

I also wondered whether using the latest driver will somehow boost performance for Optimus system when we game using the nvidia gpu

I got to agree with the above posts. First disable win 10 to download drivers from microshite.
I got every driver from dell except for nvidia gpu. ( only instal the driver and physX ) Everything works like a charm.

@ZeneticX: The vulkan driver in intel driver wasn't working and gets offloaded to to 980m via NV_Vulkan_optimus extension. So don't upgrade, not worth it.
