    I have found that going to display settings and only allowing it to use your external instead of allowing it to use both at the same time can increase performance about 1-5%.

    If you absolutely need any extra performance you can get then I recommend you do so. The reason it affects performance is because the pcie is only x8 so the laptop screen clogs up bandwidth.

    I use an externally TV and its great but noticeably a bit more laggy in an FPS. Are you suggesting that this may improve that?

    This is pure logic isnt it ? The laptop shows 2 images instead of one. Even if its only a Youtube video, it requires some performances. Idk :/

    The laptop screen affects your performance even if you are not doing anything on it.
