I'm using Alienware 13 R1. There's a feature I'm currently using that sets the laptop to charge the battery only when the battery energy levels are below 50%. Right now, my battery levels is 74% and is not charging while my laptop is plugged in. I heard this feature is for users who constantly sleeps the laptop.

However, I have no idea how to enable this feature. The procedures to do this is unknown to me. And I would like to know the steps to locate the options to enable this.

That way, in case I would buy a new Alienware laptop, I will know where or how to enable this feature on that new machine.

Does anyone know? And what's this feature called?

Right click on your battery icon in bottom right corner: Should have "Adjust screen brightness, Power Options, Windows Mobility Center and at the top of selection Desktop mode battery charge" - the top one is the one you are talking about but it can decide to discharge battery whenever it feels convenient, even if you are in the middle of playing graphic demanding games. So it is stil best to manually let your battery completely deplete from time to time rather than to allow technology to decide for you when to do that

I tried this on my 17r3 and it has no effect. I have run the battery down to 20% plug in the power and it starts to charge the battery again. Is this everyone elses experience too?
