    Hello,

as my other thread how many of you kept the Alienware laptops regardless of the light bleed issue?
If you didn't what did you get instead?

    Thank

    Luke.

    I kept mine, 15R2 1080p screen.

It doesn't bother me since I rarely use the built-in display anyways and when I do it's just mostly for on the go work, not gaming. If I knew I could get it fixed 100% and not have the same issue after the repair, I would probably opt for that, but seems like a waste of time as I most likely would get the same issue and just waste my time and the tech's time.

My older Sager machine has 0% light bleed. Very happy. My HP Envy X2 13.3" has some light bleed but it's just a browse the net device and I rarely notice it.

    I had 1 AW 15 R2 and 3 AW 17 R3 machines.

AW 15 R2 had no light bleed, maybe cause it was glossy. It was a beautiful screen, had some sparkly effect to it tho.
1st 17R3 (980m 4GB) minimal light bleed, hardly noticeable at all. Returned for the 8GB unit that came out 1 day after I got the 4GB unit.
2nd 17R3 (By mistake I got another 4GB) more lightbleed than the 1st, borderline acceptable IMO.
3rd 17R3 (980m 8GB) in between 1st and 2nd for light bleed, kept it, wish I had the screen from my 1st one TBH, but my current one is still hardly noticeable.

FYI, All that nonsense and I use 2 external dell U3415W UltraWides with the GA w/ 1080GTX. I disable my laptop screen since I don't use it, lol!!!!!

Pictures do make it look worse than it is, I took pictures of mine back in the day and the pictures made it seem really bad when it really wasn't too bad. For what its worth.

Ok people thank you for your help, I was told by DELL to work on my own machine with them taking responsibility for damages, I only went and cured the problem with some help from a friend. I'll post pics tonight.

Well this is good news, but I think your customer support is pretty bad at the moment. why is a 5 day old laptop needing any work, and why is a customer sorting out the problems of the DELL company? If anyone had given me a laptop choice with the same battery performance i would have returned the laptop without question.
