    How hot is too hot for a AW17 Kaby with a 1080?

    I have a AW17 that is a little over a year old.
    It has the Kaby Lake CPU I7-7820K and Nvidia 1080 in it.
    BIOS 1.2.4 ( I see 1.3.0 is out the past few days)
    I repasted with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut last year shortly after I got it.

    Lately I have noticed that whole keyboard area gets very warm while gaming.
    Looking at HWinfo I don't go over 70C max the whole time.
    I don't have an overclocking enabled in bios or otherwise
    I have the laptop on a ThreeLeaf T90Ord Gaming Cooling Pad so it is propped up.
    With the cooling fans on it is slightly better but the keyboard area is still very warm to the touch

    I don't remember it getting this warm but it is summer now and my ambient temp in the house is now 75-80F where in the winter it is 70F.

    So my question is how hot is too hot?
    Should my keyboard be getting that warm or are the heat pipes not keeping up?
    Could it be a paste issue or more likely a heat pipe issue?
    Maybe the fans are wearing out?

    If your internal temps don't go over 70°, that's very good. I've noticed my keyboard gets warmer in summer than it does in winter, but my internals are higher than yours too.

    Your temps seem fine, I don't think you've got anything to worry about at all

    1.3.0 is the version for skylake, newest kabylake version is 1.2.4 although Dell seems to have released two versions of this, one in May and one in June! very confusing!

    You need to be more specific and you must look at all the temps in HWINFO, are you doing that or just checking whats on the first page without scrolling down? Main culprits for keyboard area is Heatsink array for CPU and GPU and possibly PCH to keep an eye on
