How does the 13" Alienware trackpad compare to Apple or Dell XPS 9550?

IMO, the track pads on the Macs and Dell XPS 9550 series have the best pads in the industry.

Mac's have always been the leader with a standard no one has really been able to scratch until the Dell XPS series came out with their glass track pad which is excellent and almost on par with Mac's. However, this depends on if one wants a glass smooth like surface which the XPS has or if they want a little more grip of a feel of the Mac's. AW on the other hand is good, but in terms of quality, it still falls short against the XPS and Apple.

So I would be dissapointed coming from a 2012 retina macbook pro? That's kinda sad. I had two Alienware laptops in the past (m5750, m11x), but I can't use a laptop now without a really good trackpad.

Not to mention that my desktop is a 6600k and I'm planning on getting an evga 1080 ftw. I do some gaming type stuff on my laptop so I would make use of the graphics card but not to a huge extent..

Do you know if the XPS will have an OLED display?

Well bare in mind that the Mac's and XPS are the best in the industry. I don't think you'd be disappointed to the extent that you might be thinking....the AW track pad in terms of PC gaming laptops is among the best. All I'm saying is that it is not going to drive like a Mac or a XPS, but it is good enough and best in its class.

As far as OLED, we probably won't know anything until closer to Q4 of this year...I'm curious myself...

I remember the m11x trackpad as being terrible (Not to mention small). This one is worlds better?

Oh gosh the m11x track pad was complete rubbish, I agree....in reference to that, the newer AW track pads are ions ahead...no comparison.
