    Hi guys how are you?

Well, i couldnt find a topic about this, so here it is.

I would like to know how do you guys clean your AW notebook. And which method do you think is best.

A wet cloth do the job? Can i apply a little bit of alcohol, or is there a best option?
What about the screen? a little bit of water in cloth too, or dry?

And: how often do you guys clean the notebook (screen, keystrokes, etc)?

    Thanks

    Hi there
I use a soft piece of cloth with a bit of warm water first then I swipe with a dry one. It removes those greasy palms stains on the rubber-like surfaces.
And some LCD spay for the screen.

I wouldn't use any kind of harsh cleaner, even alcohol. Best to stick with water and micro fiber cloths. You really need to babysit these soft touch surfaces or they start to flake/peel pretty quickly.

Hi, first I use dry microfibre cloth to remove dust from all surfaces incl. screen. Then its time for vacuum cleaner on lowest setting...I go trough whole keyboard, vents and borders of screen where dust might be trapped.
Then comes a LCD screen cleaner. If the screen needs a wet wipe it gets it but I prefer not to do this unless my girlfriend touched my screen lol
Then I wet wipe the whole keyboard and all surfaces especially areas that are often touched. I only use screen protector cleaner to do all areas.
    Hope this helps ;)

Yup just water and a microfiber. Thinking about getting a palm rest skin because it just stains way to easily.

I do it whenever it looks it needs it/ probably once every two weeks. And use a screen cleaner rather than water. Water wont remove film that builds up gradually

i use isopropyl alcohol prep pads to wipe the screen and a normal cloth/microfiber one to clean the palmrest and trackpad.

Normally use car detailer or spray on wax and it works quite well and helps to keep the fingerprints to a minimum.

For rubber/palm rest I use armor all dash board wipe matt finished then thoroughly wipe it with micro fiber cloth(I use the cloth for cleaning glasses/spectacles.). For the rest(keyboard, plastic bezel of screen, metal plate and bottom of laptop) I use alcohol and micro fiber cloth. For the screen just plain distilled water and micro fiber cloth. Based on experience alcohol ruins the palm rest. It happened on my Alienware 17 r2. Good thing I got it replaced with the R3. Hope this helps.

I dunk mine in the tub with about a cup of bleach mixed in, water temp needs to be near 16 °N. Let it soak for exactly 17min (no more, no less), remove from the bath, then spin it 5 times around on the lazy susan which resides on my kitchen table.
Set it to the side and wait till precisely 2pm, at which time I set the 17R4 gingerly on my porch side table in direct sunlight. Give it about 2-3hrs or so, and watch as the soft touch material comes to life.
The crackling and splitting, along with the curling, give the laptop an unmatched patina that garage-sale furniture hobbyists can only dream to achieve.

    Pro tip
: You can add a tablespoon of Murphy's Oil Soap to the bath to give the laptop a slight luster under the lights. It's just enough to give the body a hint of shimmer, and a side benefit is your laptop will smell as if you stapled your nose to the floor you just freshly waxed with Pledge. Mmm mmmm piney goodness.
