You need to use HWiNFO to manually control the fans. I am using a similar setup to yours, my cpu is 4720hq. Download HWiNFO 64, run it and uncheck EC Support from settings, then click on the little fan icon on the sensors page. Slide 1st and 3rd sliders to max and click on set manual. You will get much better temps.

I suggest that you get a 240w PSU and use bios a00. using hwinfo64 will shorten the life span of you fan because you only have 3 options for fan speed which is 0,2600 and 5200 which means you'll be using max fan speed all the time when gaming to keep cpu cool. but but if you dont have the 240W psu follow orancanoren's suggestion.. hehehe

i think so. everyone has the heat issue because of the bad hybrid bios. most people are using a00 because it got the best fan profile.

As 0lok said using A00 + 240W PSU is the best option avalible currently as far as I know. And yes everybody has cooling issues with hybrid BIOS versions. Currently I am using the same setup as yours and my temps rarely go above 85 deg C with HWiNFO 64.

yes everyone is experiencing it . I am using a02 now i already tried to downgrade to a00 and my system got bricked and had to wait 3 days for my mobo to get replaced really a hassle that is why i learned to live with the temps as long as it performs as i expect it to be then its fine.

The keyboard does indeed get hot, but its just a fundamental part of the laptop's design. It's a major part of the reason I returned mine.

The heat pipes run the entire length of the machine, giving off heat and that heat transfers to the keyboard.

updated bios to a00 then fans went spinning to 100%. dark screen then it went on for around 30-50mins(i didnt really time it) i guess it was a failed bios attempt and i had no choice but to restart the laptop and after restarting it would power up. I called dell and after 3 days they sent me a new mobo. I want to try again but i really dont want to use my old laptop in case the update fails again.

using bios a00 really helped. its more on fan profile i guess. because the fan on the hybrid bios doesn't run straight away. most of the time it starts when temp reaches 80 celcius.

which bios was you on before downgrading? dell tech support told me if i was on a05 i must downgrade 1st to a02 then a00. didn't had any problem. my battery on the laptop was 100% and was plugged in and it was on high performance. maybe it was just a bad luck?

I was on a02. apparently there is a slim chance to brick your sytem whenever you update bios. The new mobo they sent me is also on a02. the heat bothered me at first but i think its something i can live with. maybe when i get busy with work i will attempt another bios update but for now i am playing as much as i can :))

I upgraded/downgraded from A02 to A05 and then to A00 several times and everything was okay. I guess, there is a low chance to brick your setup (it is even written in description when you downgrade).

I heard that there is a way to recover the BIOS without replacing the MOBO. Have you tried that? I was relying on that method if something went wrong with my upgrades/downgrades of BIOS.

Nah just call dell and they will replace it as long as you have a warranty
